REGULATIONS
Technical Regulations. All
vehicles are permitted to have headlights removed (or taped up), side and rear
windows may be replaced with 4mm Perspex
or 1” Mesh. All vehicles must have a 6 point roll cage as per [C(c)]
appendix 2 drawing 5 (minimum) installed
as per Section [C(c)] 10 - 17 a drivers door bar MUST be fitted, high back
fixed competition seat as per [C(c)]
50, minimum 4 point safety harness as per [C(c)]
45, all wheels protected by mud flaps as
per (E) 71, door squares and race numbers as per [C(b)] 6, a minimum of 2 fully functioning brake lights at the rear
of the vehicle, a rear view mirror as per
(E) 79. Also all vehicles must comply with relevant technical sections
in [C(b)], (E)
69 - 81, (E) 82 - 109 and [C(c)]
in the MSA 2008 blue book; this will
be part of pre-race scrutineering. Any car not complying with this will NOT
be allowed to race. Any competitor unsure of any regulations should contact the eligibility scrutineer
for clarification.
For Classes 2 through to
6, the silhouette as seen in side elevation must remain unaltered above the
wheel hub centres of the original car, except for the engine cover / bonnet, the
shape of which is free.
The silencing requirements
and the rules regarding hand cut or racing tyres cannot be changed. Only tyres
carrying an E mark with sizes, road markings and for road use will be permitted.
Any car that runs an
original silhouette must run with all panels and bumpers attached at all times,
(including class 7& 8), tow bar’s are not permitted, Bracing to the front
and rear bumpers is not permitted.
It is compulsory
that all cars be fitted with a 6 point roll cage , see section C diagram
6 in MSA handbook (bluebook)
CLASSES:
1.0
Junior Class. This is an Age
Restricted Class, (14 to 17 years old).
The maximum engine capacity is restricted up to
1400cc 8v. Production
vehicle, front or rear wheel drive with standard unmodified engine in original
position. Car must run standard induction system, inlet manifold and exhaust
system applicable to the vehicle, but performance air filters and exhaust back
boxes are permitted, no turbo’s or superchargers. No body kits, no space
framing or alterations to make the car lighter will be permitted, no fibreglass
or alloy panels. Car dashboard is to remain as standard and in original
position. Wheels must be standard production items applicable to the vehicle,
suspension is free. Petrol tank is free for modification or relocation. The
silhouette of the vehicle must not be altered, standard gearbox and differential
applicable to the vehicle must be used, Limited Slip Differentials are not
permitted. Seat belt in accordance with (E) 109. (FIA homologated and with four separate fixing points) is
mandatory. Also refer to Blue Book (E)

1.1
Class 1.
Restricted up to 1400cc Multi Valve Engine.
Production
vehicle, front or rear wheel drive, with standard production unmodified
engine in original position. Car must run standard carburettor, inlet manifold
and exhaust
manifold applicable to the vehicle, Fuel injection is permitted with
standard injectors and standard
ECU but only to cars fitted as standard. Performance air filter and
exhaust back box are permitted. Suspension is free, no body kits, no space
framing or alterations to make the car lighter will be permitted, no fibreglass
or alloy panels. Car dashboard is to remain as standard and in original
position. Petrol tank is free for modification or relocation. The silhouette of
the vehicle must not be altered, no turbo’s or superchargers. Standard
unmodified gearbox and differential applicable to the vehicle must be used.
1.2
Class 2.
Restricted up to 1400cc & maximum 16v.
Production
front wheel drive vehicles up to 1400cc with engine in original position.
Carburetion and Inlet manifold system is free. Exhaust manifold, system
and air filter are free. The standard unmodified differential applicable to the
vehicle must be used. Fuel injection is permitted with standard injectors
but only to cars fitted as standard, body kits are permitted, space framing and
lightening are permitted as is fibreglass and alloy panels, suspension changes
are free, no turbo’s or superchargers, Vehicle must have manufacturers engine
for that car, e.g.: mk1 fiesta is not allowed to run with a mk3 engine. Engine
may be bored to a maximum of 1400cc.
1.3
Class 3. RWD
up to 3500cc – Multi-Valve Engine.
Production
vehicles with rear wheel drive, up to 3500cc. Engine must be located in
original compartment. All other modifications are free except the use of
turbo’s or superchargers.
1.4
Class 4.
Unrestricted up to 1600cc & maximum 16v.
Production
vehicles up to a maximum of 1600cc. The engine must be located in the
original engine compartment. The engine, gearbox and exhaust are free to
modification, body kits including wide arch kits are permitted as is space
framing and lightening. Fibreglass and alloy panels are permitted, locked,
limited slip and torque bias differentials are permitted.
1.5
Class 5.
Unrestricted up to 2100cc & maximum 16v.
As per class 4 up to a maximum of 2100cc.
1.6
Class 6 Road
Cars unlimited cc.
Vehicles
complying with the Road Traffic Act (headlights may be removed). An MOT
certificate and registration documents must be produced, although a tax disc is
not required. Turbo’s & superchargers are permitted. Four-wheel
drive vehicles are not permitted, and the vehicle is free to all other
modifications.
1.7
Class 7
Formula Libra 2 Wheel Drive unlimited cc.
Any
vehicle, which does not comply with the above, mentioned classes and only 2
Wheels drive the vehicles. All vehicles without side windows i.e. Buggies must
be fitted with safety nets. Turbo’s and superchargers are permitted.
1.8
Class 8 Formula
Libra 4 Wheel Drive unlimited ccs
Any
vehicle which does not comply with the above-mentioned classes and all 4 Wheels
drive the vehicle. All vehicles without side windows i.e. Buggies must be fitted
with safety nets. Turbo’s and superchargers are permitted.

Class points will be scored as follows:
1st
=10pts, 2nd =9pts, 3rd =8pts, 4th =7pts, 5th =6pts, 6th =5pts, 7th =4pts, 8th
=3pts, 9th =2pts.
These
points refer to the finishing positions, the times for the classes will be the
aggregate of the best two timed runs for each event. The single fastest
run will decide any ties. Points will only be awarded on the completion of two
timed runs. Any Driver Excluded from a meeting will receive “EX” in
their results and this cannot be classified as a dropped round. Any
driver who is Excluded from 3 meeting, in that current year, will be
expelled from that year’s event's
